Padukone, who is known for her mental health foundation TLLF (The Live Love Laugh Foundation), set up in 2015, posted a 4-minute-long video on IGTV, which showed four different and powerful stories of a family member or a loved one asking a person battling mental health issues if they are fine, urging them to discuss their problems.
The video was meant to drive home the key message of Padukone’s campaign – #DobaraPoocho – which translates to ‘Ask Again’, emphasising on the importance of inquiring about a person’s mental health despite their repeated assurances of being fine.
The video also touches upon the stigma faced by people due to which they aren’t able to discuss their mental health issues openly.
In the caption of the video, Padukone urged her fans to be sensitive and emotional to the needs of those around us.
“#DobaraPoocho Now more than ever we need to be sensitive and support the emotional needs of those around us…#DobaraPoocho #MentalHealthMatters,” the ‘Chhapaak’ actor wrote.
A vocal advocate of mental health issues, Padukone has tried to spread nationwide awareness around mental health and also launched de-stigmatisation campaigns.
Earlier this year, she was feted with the Crystal Award at the World Economic Forum for spreading awareness about the importance of mental health.
