Crow Wing Energized’s first virtual event, Move it for Mental Health, is coming in September and gives participants multiple ways to be active, and hopes to create momentum for reducing mental health stigma.
The virtual event, Crow Wing Energized’s first, coincides with National Suicide Prevention Month. Participants can choose an activity — run, walk, roll, swim, kayak, or skip — and Movie it for Mental Health the week of Sept. 19-26. Participants can move for a mile, choose a 5k or a 10k for the event.
Cost is $30, plus an online processing fee, and donations are also accepted during checkout. All participants will receive a Make It OK shirt, neck gaiter/face mask and race bib.
Participants get one vote towards the nonprofit mental health organization of their choice.
A portion of the event proceeds will be donated to the winning nonprofit. The five nonprofits that are eligible to be voted for are:
The Lighthouse Project
Smiles for Jake
Wellness in the Woods
Bridges of Hope
