The celebrity trainer who helped Rebel Wilson lose 20kg during her ‘year of health’ has revealed his top tips for keeping the holiday kilos off.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia on Wednesday, Jono Castano explained: ‘It’s all about creating the balance.

‘If you’re at a party or planning on going out, you’ve got to be self-set on a certain amount of drinks for the night and be back on track the next day.’

He added: ‘There’s different tips I share with my clients, but at Acero [his fitness company] we are all about the balance. I encourage people to have as much fun as possible.’

The 29-year-old fitness expert’s A-list clients include Rebel Wilson, Pia Miller, Jodi Gordon, Matty Johnson and model Laura Dundovic.

Meanwhile, for those looking to lose weight, Jono recommends documenting fitness goals on social media and ‘moving’ at least 45 minutes a day.

His approach promotes a ‘#45Daily’ idea, which involves working out for 45 minutes and rethinking how you move.

‘Forty-five minutes is enough time to go to the park, go to the gym or go for a swim. The amount of calories you could burn in 45 minutes will contribute to your goal,’ he added.

‘If you’re trying to lose weight, I would recommend more repetitions rather than less, and focusing on 120 heartbeats up and trying to maintain that throughout the whole session.’

Jono also recently teamed up with The Alternative Meat Co. to promote their new range of plant-based chicken alternatives, alongside Chris Hemsworth’s trainer, Luke Zocchi.

‘I’ve never met Luke, but obviously I am a big fan and love what he showcases, and he’s got so much passion for the fitness industry and I simply love that,’ he said.

‘A lot of us think that if you want to build muscle, you have to eat chicken. I think that’s false. I think the more we can open ourselves up to different type of protein elements is amazing.’
